Copper Peptides for Cosmetic Research — United States

A copper peptide is a complex: a short peptide and a copper(II) ion bound together, and the product is the pair. GHK-Cu is glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine with copper; AHK-Cu swaps the glycine for alanine. The two are told apart by that first residue and by what they are studied in — GHK-Cu across wound-closure, collagen and matrix-remodelling models since its isolation from plasma in the 1970s, AHK-Cu chiefly in hair-follicle work.

Because the complex is the product, its certificate carries a figure a plain peptide's does not. Peptide content and copper content are reported separately, and a lot can be on-spec for one and short on the other; both are published for every lot here with the HPLC purity, against the batch code on the vial. The deep blue of the solution is the sign of the complex, not a measure of its purity.

The blends that contain GHK-Cu alongside BPC-157 and TB-500 are shelved with the peptides, since they are studied as repair blends. Supplied strictly for laboratory research, shipped domestically within the United States.

What to check before buying cosmetics compounds

Purity is half the number. A purity figure tells you what fraction of the powder in the vial is the compound on the label — it tells you nothing about how much powder is in the vial. A lot can assay at 99.8% purity and still be short against its labelled content.

Both numbers are published for every batch here: purity from HPLC, and measured mass against expected content. Match the batch code printed on the vial to the certificate before you rely on either.
